EDS. COM. — Steamer Memphis No. 2, left Memphis Wednesday, May 19th at 6 P. M., seven hundred bales of cotton, and sixty cabin and forty-eight deck passengers. 14th. met Baltic at Island 21; Southerner at Merryweathers; City of Memphis at Island 8; T. G. Magill at Island 8; Antelope above Island 8; Planet below Hickman. The D. Boone and Kate Frisbee are running in opposition to each other. Business is very dull in Memphis, and three of the New Orleans and Memphis Packets have laid up for the season. The Mississippi is still very high; and the water in many places over the banks. We passed to-day (14th,) a number of cattle on the banks that have died from starvation; the water being so high, that they could not get food from any quarter.
