EDS. GAZETTE: — Steamer Seventy-six left Nashville, Wednesday, January 5th 5 1/2 P. M., with eighty tons freight, and thirty cabin and nine deck passengers. Boats in port for Cincinnati, Empire City, Sir Wm. Wallace and Quaker City. Arrived at Ashland Landing, 2 M. 6th; took 75 tongs pig iron; left there 9 1/2 A. M., and arrived at Smithland 8 1/2 P. M.; left 9 P. M., met two boats at foot of Sisters Island, names unknown. 7th met Lehigh at foot of Big Hurricane Island, Laid at Elizabeth 20 hours taking on iron; left there 9 P. M., met boat at Cave in Rock, name unknown. 8th, met boat at foot of Diamond Island name unknown. Weather cold and light snow. River falling fast.
