Building Inspectors

Visit Civil Testing Lab

Building inspectors from more than a score of cities from Boston to St. Louis visited the University recently, inspecting work in the materials testing laboratory in the Civil Engineering Building. Glass bricks manufactured by the Owens-Illinois Glass Co., were tested and withstood a wind pressure of 162 miles per hour. These bricks as well as many other building products have undergone tests in the laboratories within the last two years. This particular glass brick is now finding its way into general construction.
