A FIRE AT FAIRMOUNT

KING CITY GLASS WORKS VISITED.

Warehouse and Mixing Room

Destroyed — Loss $4,000 — Fully

Insured.

A portion of the King City Glass Works burned here last night about 12:45 o'clock. When the fire department arrived the ware shed was doomed. The shed was full of insulators, packed and ready for shipment. The engine house and mixing room were also consumed, but by hard work the "fire laddies" managed to save the lehr room, grinding room and the factory itself.

The buildings were all situated on one lot and close together, making a hard place to fight a fire.

The factory belonged to the Tigner Bros, and Richard Henley.

At this writing it is impossible to get the exact amount of loss, but at a rough guess it will be between $2,000 and $3,000, with some insurance.

J. H. Wilson was operating the factory, and it is estimated that he lost between $200 and $300.

The fire caught on the north end of the ware shed, and spread from there to the mixing room and then to the engine bouse. A box car loaded with material for the plant Was also consumed and taking into consideration the direction of the wind it is a miracle almost that the whole plant did not burn.

It is not known how the fire originated.
