The funeral of the late venerable M. M. Benton, Covington, was attended by many of the most prominent citizens of that place and vicinity.

Researcher notes:	Mortimer Murray Benton was retained by Ralph Gray and Robert Hemingray to research the title of the Covington property that they contemplated purchasing in 1847. M. M. Benton was an accomplished attorney and served as the first Mayor of the Town of Covington.
