OBITUARY


John Butler, a well known and prominent member of Local Union No. 38, Beaver Falls, Pa., died at the home of Joseph Barth, 221 E. Sixth street, Muncie, Ind., on Sunday, February 4th, at 4:30 p. m., after an illness lasting nearly a year. The deceased came to this country from Ireland, and when a small boy located at Muncie, Ind., where he learned the glass trade, working in the employ­ment of the Hemingray Glass Com­pany for upwards of thirty-three years. For the past ten years he has been in the employment of the Co-Operative Glass Company at Beaver Falls, Pa., where he served in the capacity of a gaffer on caster place shop. He was recognized throughout the flint glass trade as an excellent skilled glass worker; represented sev­eral local unions at our national con­ventions and always displayed a deep interest in the welfare of our organization. He is survived by his wife Anna, one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Wogman. of Beaver Falls, Pa., one sister, Miss Mary Butler of Pitts­burgh, Pa., and three grand-children. Funeral services were held from St. Lawrence Catholic church and were conducted by the Rev. Father Houli­han. Interment was made in Beech Grove cemetery, at Muncie, Ind.
