THE BIG SHOW

Large Number Of Colorful Displays Features Twelfth Annual Beverage Exposition, Held In West Wing Of Cleveland Public Auditorium, November 14 To 18.... New Developments In Bottling Machinery Introduced.... Historical Exhibit A Big Attraction....Descriptions And Photographs Of Leading Exhibits

ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN exhibitors, optimistically looking forward to better times and showing practically every article directly or indirectly used in the production and sale of carbonated beverages, were responsible for the success of the Twelfth Annual Beverage Exposition, held in the West Wing of the Cleveland Public Auditorium, from Monday, Nov. 14 to Friday, Nov. 18.

As a whole, the Show, colorful though it was, seemed just a little less elaborate than previous exhibitions. However, such a large array of products were on display and so attractive were the layouts of the majority of booths, that to the bottlers who kept streaming down the aisles, the Show was a most glamorous affair.

Throughout ''Bottlers' Week" there was on display a tremendous variety of ingredients, supplies, equipment, machinery and allied products which are used in the manufacture of carbonated beverages. New developments and improvements in bottling machinery and equipment, demanded by the trend of modern production methods, were introduced at the "Big Show" by the manufacturers. The heavier pieces lined both sides of the spacious hall, while the samller machines were dispersed throughout the other booths. Most of these were kept in constant operation for the benefit of interested bottlers.

Although a bit smaller than the one used last year, the hall was expansive enough to comfortably hold the many exhibits and also to permit easy passage from place to place.

An unusual feature of this year s Show was the Historical Exhibit, one of the main attractions on the floor. Every bottler enjoyed the display of old-time bottling machinery and bottles, which were supplied by S. Twitchell Co., Philadelphia, Pa., and the NATIONAL BOTTLERS' GAZETTE of New York City.

Booths 509-511, occupied by the N. B. G., proved to be one of the popular spots in the hall, and a countless number of visitors dropped in to pay their respects. The efforts of the Staff cartoonist and the photographer are shown throughout the pages of this issue.

Those bottlers who were not in attendance at Cleveland missed an exhibition of machinery and supplies that was an education in itself. It is for this large number of bottlers that we append, immediately following, booth photographs and a word description of the displays of those exhibitors who returned the N. B. G. questionnaires in time for publication:
