SHINKLE WILL FILED;
$10,000 TO HOME
Millionaire Capitalist Leaves $10,000 to the Protestant
Children’s Home-Widow Gets Half of Estate and
Children Divide the Rest Equally.
The will of Bradford Shinkle, millionaire capitalist of Covington, was filed for probate in the Kenton-co. Court today. No appraisement of the estate is to be made and his wife, Mary, and his two sons, A. Clifford and Bradford. Jr., are named as executrix and executors, with an allowance of [dollar:$2000] a year each for these duties.
One-half of the income of the estate goes to the wife and the balance is to he equally divided among the three children, Camilla Cross, A. Clifford and Bradford, Jd [sic] Jr. His wife, Mary, is to be given [dollar:$150] a week for household expenses.
The only bequest to charity is that of [dollar:$10,000] to the Protestant Children’s Home, of Covington. This institution was founded by Mr. Shinkle’s father.
The estate is to be kept intact until Bradford, Jr., reaches 25. Alice S. Bishop is given the residence which she now lives in at Adams and Market-sts. Miss Llewellyn Hemingray, of Muncie, Ind,. gets [dollar:$5000], and Mrs. Carroll Hemingray McAbee, of Muncie, [dollar:$1000].
Miss May Clevinger, private secretary for several years to Mr. Shinkle, is remembered in his will to the extent of [dollar:$1000], and coachman, Richard Johnson, also gets [dollar:$1000].
The will requests that [dollar:$17,000] be added to [dollar:$8000] which was given Bradford Jr., by his grandfather, and make the total [dollar:$25,000].
Several sums which he has given his son Clifford and his daughter Camilla, he wishes to be charged to their share of the estate. Dr. F. B. Cross, son-in-law, is given [dollar:$10,000] in life insurance which was all Shinkle carried on his life.
His grandson and two grand-daughters are each given $1000. The will was written on November 23, 1907.
