H. H. Howard, president of the company, places the loss on the building at $10,000 and the loss on the merchandise at $100,000. Eastern manufacturers are the chief losers. The fire was discovered by the night watchman about six o’clock this morning on the ground floor, and is believed to have been started by crossed electric wires.
