Messrs. Fenton and Clark.

We find by the following that we are not alone in the expression of our admiration and appreciation of Messrs. FENTON and CLARK, and are much gratified to be able to record an endorsement from so high a source; and of a character so complimentary and deserved; and so characteristic of the good and generous qualities of the subscribers.

EDITOR OF THE BANNER:—Dear Sir :—Your notice in the last issue of the Bennington Banner, of the return of C. W. FENTON from his late protracted visit in the West, and the contemplated removal of himself and his associate, Mr. D. W. CLARK, from this community, in which they have resided for so many years; whose enterprises they have contributed so materially in building up, and who by their genius and energy have reflected so much credit oil the manufacturing character of our State together with the high commendations they have received from the "Press" of our State, admonishes us that some expression of appreciation is also due them from this community. We, therefore, beg leave to assure you that we cheerfully endorse all that you and your cotemporaries have said in their behalf—with the hope that this expression of appreciation of their services, and regret for their loss to our town and State, will bespeak for them the confidence and esteem of the citizens of Peoria, and the West; Where, and among whom, we understand they are about to remove.

We remain yours, Very Truly,
