PORCELAIN WORKS.
Messrs. LYMAN & FENTON have just commenced building, at Bennington, an immense establishment for the manufacture of Porcelain Ware. The site chosen for the erection of the buildings is adjacent to the celebrated Flint Enamel Manufactory, and will have some degree of connection with it. The main building will correspond in size with those at present occupied by the Flint Enamel and Ironstone or Lava Ware, and like them, will contain a separate kiln for the burning of its manufactures, of sufficient dimensions to turn out from [dollar: $1000] to [dollar: $1500] worth per week.
The specimens of Porcelain already manufactured by LYMAN & FENTON have elicited the unqualified approbation of the best judges in the country, not only on account of their exquisite design and rare finish, but for the purity and beautify transparency of the material. We have had the pleasure of personally inspecting some ewers, basins and spittoons that have passed through the process of gilding, and so far as our humble judgement goes, they are vastly superior to the imported china, that is so highly prized for its lightness and beauty.
