of Potatoes

[Daily Press Special News Service]

SAN JACINTO, Nov. 25. — Under the direction of Monroe Salisbury the play ‘'Butterflies” was given in Dunham’s hall Monday night for the benefit of the proposed Y. M. C. A. The entertainment was participated in by Hemet talent, the play having previously been given there. A large crowd enjoyed the evening and the receipts were sufficient for a fund for preliminary work on the Y. M. C. A.

First Frost Nips Plants

During the past week frosts have been experienced, severe enough to nip potato plants and other tender growth. The season is sufficiently advanced, however, so that potato growers will not experience any loss, as the tubers are ripe and ready to be dug. C. W. Niederman reports a yield of 300 sacks of first quality potatoes from a four and one-half acre piece. C. E. Bunker, another grower, expects a 3000 sack yield, from his 50 acre field.
