Big Deal is Made.

Oil leases for twelve hundred acres of land in Jackson township, Wayne county, were filed this week with the county recorder. The leases are to the Hemingray Glass company, of Muncie, and the territory leased is located north of Cambridge City, extending along the Hagerstown pike to the Jefferson township lines. Nine leases, in all were filed.

It is understood that the Hemingray company will at once make a test of the field, drilling one or more wells during the coming summer. The land leased is not a great distance from the wells which have been drilled in Henry county, in which oil has been found.
