STRIKE IS ABOUT OVER
School Boys Take Places of Lads Who
Walked Out at Hemingrays.
A sufficient number of the boys employed at the Hemingray glass works, who struck for higher wages last Friday, returned to work this morning to enable the plant to start in full. With the closing of the city schools, a large number of boys were available, and the strike is practically over. The boys were receiving 80 and 90 cents a day, and they asked for an increase of 10 cents. The demand was refused and the boys left the factory, a number of the shops being forced into idleness temporarily.
