FACTORY VACATIONS
BEGIN ON SATURDAY
Workmen Have Plans Made for Their
Regular Summer Outings — Shutdowns
Will Be Short.
Vacation time in the glass factories will commence tomorrow, when Ball Brothers', Hemingray's and Boldt's will be closed for the summer. The Hemingray plant will start again in ten days. Ball Brothers' resume August 1, and Boldt’s on September 4. The bolt and nut department at the Indiana mill will close tomorrow for ten days, while the summer vacation at the Midland plant began several days ago. Vacations have not been announced for the employes of the American Rolling mill and the Indiana bridge works, both of which are very busy. In all of the factories there will be extensive improvements and repairs during the period that they are closed. Scores of the wormen will spend their vacations out of the city, many forming themselves into fishing and camping parties.
