— The competition of the several telegraph operators in this city are fixing up the exterior and interior of their offices, which has been carried on all summer, with slight intervals, does not seem to be ended yet. For a while back the "last touch" in the O’Rielly office looked much like the climax of neatness and tasteful display; but now the Morse line is evidently ahead, — it has the finest open front of all, and we think defies all further effort among its neighbors, unless the O’Rielly’s pull out those ugly third story windows and fit up something that won't be shocking to good taste and lightning, too! In the meantime the Wade line has centered all its ambition in the "longest pole." We clearly see, now, from our point of observation that the third story windows of the O’Rielly’s are in bad taste and had better be opened up!
