— Although our city has excellent facilities for telegraphic communication with most places, yet our business men have been long seriously annoyed by imperfect nature of the connection with the St. Louis, the lines reaching that city, being indirect, and owing to the unfavorable character of the country through which they pass, frequently out of repair. We understand that now, however, the evil is to be remedied. Mr. J. H. Wade, of the Northern Telegraph Lines, has purchased the lines through Indiana and Illinois, commenced about a year ago, and finished nearly as far as Alton by Mr. Lee, and he tells us that he will open his office in St. Louis in the course of forty days. If Mr. Wade takes hold of this matter with his accustomed energy, we may hope for a better state of things as soon.
