THE NEW ST. LOUIS LINE. — The Wade line, direct to St. Louis, we learn, is progressing rapidly, and preparations are being made to cross the Mississippi with gutta percha wire. Before many days the line will be completed — "a consummation devoutly to be wished," for by the old lines the transmission of messages to and from St. Louis has occupied more time, and has been accomplished with less accuracy than to and from any other point which Telegraph wires pretended to reach. The business between Cincinnati and St. Louis is necessarily very great, and the establishment of reliable means of communication is a thing of vital importance to our merchants. We do not know that Mr. Wade has asked for subscriptions to stock in his lines, from our citizens, but if he should do so, we hope no encouragement will be wanting to his enterprise.
