Rites Monday for
Sarah Holmes
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Elliott Holmes, 912 W. North St., will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Meeks Mortuary. The Rev. C. R. Moodey will officiate, with burial to follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Holmes died at Ball Hospital early Friday morning after an illness of three weeks. She was the wife of Minot K. Holmes, secretary-treasurer of Holmes Electric Co. and retired manager of Owens-Illinois Glass Co. plant in Muncie. She had lived in Muncie more than 50 years.
A native of Springfield, O., she had been prominent in a number of Muncie activities. Mrs. Holmes was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
She leaves besides her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Robert Casey; a son, Eliot Holmes; four grandchildren; a brother, George Elliott, and a sister, Mrs. Mark Huffman, all of Muncie, and another brother, Jim Elliott, Lebanon, O.
