Owens-Illinois Buys Hemingray Glass

 

Wm. E. Levis, president of the Owens-Illinois Glass Co., Toledo O., has announced the purchase of the en­tire assets and businnes of the Hemingray Glass Co., of Muncie, Ind., and substantially all the assets of the O’Neill Machine Co., of Toledo, O.

The Hemingray Company has specialized in the production of glass insulators for many years and num­bers among its customers the principal users of insulators for electrical wiring in the United States.

The acquisition of the O’Neill Machine Company settles patent litigation that had arisen between the two companies in connection with the O’Neill Company’s ex­perimental development of an automatic bottle-blowing machine.
