WE are sorry to have to announce the death of William Brunt, Sr., of East Liverpool, Ohio, which took place in that city on Wednesday, July 12, 1882. Mr. Brunt was born in Staffordshire, England, on June 10, 1804, and was consequently a little over 78 years of age at the time of his death. He was a practical potter by trade, and emigrated to this country in 1842, landing at New Orleans, and ascending the Mississippi river to Southern Illinois, where he engaged in farming for several years. He came to East Liverpool in 1847, and in conjunction with his son-in-law, the late William Bloor, established a door-knob manufactory, from which business he retired a few years ago in easy circumstances. Mr. Brunt was a man of great force of character, entertaining positive and pronounced opinions He was a free and independent thinker, maintaining and vindicating his opinions with courage and ability. His integrity and rectitude secured for him the respect of all. His funeral occurred on July 13, and was largely attended by the citizens of East Liverpool.
