New Factory for Brooklyn.

Contracts were signed last week which insure the immediate erection by the Gleason-Tiebout Glass Co. of Brooklyn of a large modern glass factory at Maspeth, Borough of Queens, for the production of glass novelties, electrical insulators, and other goods. The furnace is to be for sixteen pots of mammoth size, and of the Siemen's regenerative type, operated with producer gas, and will yield a quantity of metal equal to the two furnaces now operated by this company at its Greenpoint factory. The plant will be up-to-date in every particular. All machinery will be electrically driven, and so arranged that no shafting of any kind will show in the working rooms. These rooms will be lighted, also, by electricity.

The Gleason-Tiebout Co. will continue to operate permanently and in addition to the new factory their present plant, located at Commercial street and Newtown Creek, Greenpoint, which employs 300 hands.
