From the owner of a racing stable and better of thousands of dollars in a session, to a cell in the Cincinnati jail where he must remain at least 30 days and much longer if the fine assessed against him be not paid, in the fall of Robin Hemingray, the Muncie young man whose "sporty" career and escapades have attracted much attention lately.

Unable to obtain $60 with which to pay a board bill, though a very short time ago thousands of dollars was at his command, Hemingray was sentenced in Cincinnati to 30 days in jail and was fined $100.

He might have gotten off more easily, it is said, but he was defiant to the police officers. He made a boast, it was said, that the jail could not hold him longer than an hour.

Of all the friends upon whom he had scattered thousands, none came to his assistance.

Since young Hemingray a short time ago went to San Francisco in company with Miss Charlotta [sic] Carlotta Campiglio, a beautiful Cincinnati girl who killed herself there when she thought Hemingray was going to desert her, he has not been popular with the Cincinnati police department.

Hemingray was arrested Monday when Manager Ryland, of the Homing hotel, there complained that the young man would not pay a board bill of $60.

Hemingray's relatives failed to come forward to pay his fine.
