THREATS TO GAS SUPPLIER

Some time ago Messrs. Reeb Bros., Welland, Ont., promised to supply Mr. J. Losh with gas should he start a factory there, and Mr. Losh secured the smelting works with an eye to the glass business. The Diamond Glass Co., who have a lease on the Foster Works, did not relish the idea of competition, and notified Reeb Bros. that should they supply Mr. Losh with gas they (the Diamond Glass Co.) would cease taking gas from them. Thus matters stood until last week, when the Diamond Glass Co. leased some six farms west of the village and secured options to four others. As to what the outcome of it all will be no one knows at present, but it is rumored that the contract has been let for the drilling of several wells for the Diamond Glass Co. and instead of one they may have two glass factories in the near future.
