TUFFIN POTTERY MUDDLE.

RECEIVER DUGGAN, of the Brewer Pottery Co., at Tiffin, and Dan K. Bayue and other plantiffs [sic] plaintiffs in a suit against the company, have filed answers and replications to the answer and cross-bill of Albert Brewer, former president and general manager. Brewer asked preference for a claim for moneys advanced at different times to pay wages. Duggan and the plantiffs [sic] plaintiffs say that the advances were not so large as claimed by Brewer, and that Brewer took the notes of the company for $5,300, and collected two, amounting to $2,898.96 and that he overdrew his salary $1,142.34. They held that Brewer is not entitled to preference for advances for wages, as he did not pay the men and take their claims, but loaned the money to the company. - Toledo, O., Bee.
