· · Several gentlemen interested un the pottery business of Trenton have also had more or less interest in the Brewer Pottery, of Tiffin, O. Last Saturday was the day set by the receiver, Mr. F. A. Duggan, of the Imperial Porcelain Works, for the sale of the plant at Tiffin. From information had here this evening, the sale was held on Saturday, as advertised, and it is said that C. Albert Brewer made the final bid on the works for $49,000, at which figure the sale was made. After a long and eventful series of changes that has made the Brewer Pottery a strong contributor to the general history of American pottery, it has returned to the ownership of the original proprietor - the man who stood on the steps of the old Ott & Brewer Pottery one summer day, years ago, and made up his mind finally to cast his fortunes in Tiffin. Nothing is known here regarding Mr. Brewer's plans for the future, but, knowing him as well as I do, I think I can safely say that it will not be long before he will make some positive move toward opening up and operating the fine plant that bears his name. · · |
