YESTERDAY'S FIRE. Small Blaze at Hemingray's Glass Factory.
About 4:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon the tip flew off of a gas pipe at the Hemingray glass works. The escaping gas caught fire and the blaze ignited a joist above the pipe. An alarm was pulled in from box 64, but the factory hose was pressed into service and the flames were extinguished by the time the department arrived. The damage is very small. |
