OBITUARY.

J. M. Brookfield, of Brooklyn, who went to Jacksonville, Fla., for his health, died there January 16, after a prolonged illness of pneumonia and heart disease, at the age of seventy-eight years. Mr. Brookfield was one of Brooklyn's wealthiest and most prominent citizens, being one of the largest glass manufacturers in the country. He owned the patent for the glass insulators used on telegraph poles, and perhaps manufactured nine-tenths of all those used in the country. A son-in-law and three daughters were with him when he died. The body will be brought home for interment.
