Researcher notes:City and Suburban Telegraph Association ran the first commercial line across the suspension bridge into Covington "in the middle of" January, 1879. It is interesting to note that the Hemingray Glass Company was not one of the ten initial subscribers to this service. It can only be speculated that the Hemingray Glass Company maintained their "private line" for some time.
