Was That Held By the City Councilmen

Last Night-Several Members Absent

The meeting of the city councilmen last night was decidedly limited. Councilman Haywood being absent from the city as was Mr. Anthony. The city attorney presented an ordinance to compel the people to clean the snow and ice from their sidewalks in front of their residences or place of business. Mr. Warner was a little late in the presentation of his ordinance but it passed just the same.

An ordinance regulating the meeting of the city council, was presented and after the first reading, was referred to the city attorney last night.

An ordinance providing for the issue and sale of bonds in anticipation of the collection of assessments heretofore made by the council on account of various improvements made on the streets was passed. This ordinance was brought up before the council sometime ago but owing to an error in one of the sections it was layed over until the necessary correction was made.

These ordinances with the allowing of the following bills to be paid, comprises the amount of business transacted last night:
