FIRE IN NEW FURNACE. Will Soon Have Additional Capacity at the Hemingray Plant in Muncie. Muncie, Ind., Feb. 1. — Everything is moving along in nice shape at the Hemingray works and everyone is getting full time. The new furnace will be ready in about two weeks. Fire was put in this week. M. J. Carey, who has been on the sick list for the past year, is reported improving. He is now at Cincinnati. — John Fitzgibbons' only child died last week and was buried on Saturday, Jan. 28. She was 17 month old. Bro. Fitzgibbons has our sincere sympathy in his sad bereavement. The officers of L. U. No. 23 are: Harry Neurman, president; Edward Hice, vice president; G. A. Fensky, financial secretary; Wm. Morgan, recording and corresponding secretary, and Wm. Finan, treasurer. Thos. Hearon, who was injured some time ago, is back at his old place in the factory. — P. Concannon, who has been off sick, is also able to attend to his duties. Larry Carmichal, one of the prominent gatherers here, is laid up with the grip. — A large number of local workmen are making good use of their spare time by attending the different business colleges located in this city. It is a commendable move and is worthy of emulation in other sections of the trade. — Artisan. |
