NOTES FROM THE MAGIC CITY.

A Steady Run Has Been Recorded in the Muncie

Factories — Many Notes and Personals.

Muncie, Ind., June 6. — Everything in this locality is going along nicely and all are looking forward to the last of June for their annual vacation. We have had a very prosperous year, with steady work the rule. The workers will enjoy themselves in various ways. Some will visit their former homes, others will go fishing and others will take advantage of the excursions to different parts of the country.

Wm. Ainsley, a member of Local Union No. 23, of this city, who had his foot amputated at Cincinnati on account of a complication of diseases, is now in better shape and is almost able to leave the hospital.

Local 23 will give a picnic at Eaton, Ind., on Saturday, June 30. — Edward Bacon, Jacob Shaffer, Harry Jenkins, and Wm. McNall, of Kokomo, are the new men employed here this fire. — Jos. Chamberlain, Oliver Nicols, Gately brothers, Wm. Giberson, Jos. Shinn, and Wm. Stiles will spend their vacation at their old home in New Jersey.

The different glass factories and other plants at this place are troubled with a scarcity of small help.

Michael Carey, a life-long member of L. U. No. 23, died here last Wednesday evening. His body was taken to Covington, Ky., and burial took place on Saturday. Bro. Carey had been ill for three years, but was able to be up and around at times.

The members of the local trades council have been giving several enjoyable entertainments in their hall, which have a good effect, as they bring all the different trade locals closer together for business and good fellowship. — Deleware.
