FROM INDIANA'S MAGIC CITY. Work of Rebuilding Chas. Boldt Glass Co.'s Works is Progressing Rapidly — Workers Leaving for Camp. Muncie, Ind., June 27. — The Chas. Boldt Glass Co.'s local factory, which was destroyed by fire recently, is being rapidly rebuilt and Manager Holden expects to be making glass not later than Sept. 1. The weather has been extremely hot lately and as a consequence considerable time is being lost by local workers. The small help problem, too, is more acute than ever, but only a few more days of toil and troubles and many workers will hide themselves away to some quite retreat near one of the many streams or lakes in this section and, after a season of rest, they will return in September much refreshed and invigorated. About 35 local workers will be with the Happy Home Fishing Club on the Sandusky river near Tiffin, O. This is the largest and best equipped of any of the local clubs and invariably shows its members and visitors a good time. Several of the boys have already left with part of the equipment, but the majority will leave on a special car attached to the Lake Erie & Western train next Tuesday morning. The Heekin Park Club leaves the same day for Connersville, Ind., where, along the White river, they expect to find many fine specimens of the finny tribe. Jas. Blaine, who was seriously injured by a jack brick which, falling from an elevation struck him squarely on top of the head, will recover, though many weeks will elapse before he is able to again work at the trade. Mrs. Thos. Holden, who has been confined in a hospital in Louisville, Ky., for several months is again at home and is now able to walk about.. Mr. and Mrs. Luke Mambourg, of Mt. Vernon, O., were in the city recently attending the funeral of Mrs. Mambourg's mother. — John Nolan has left for Detroit, Mich., to spend the summer. — Joseph Wilbur is at Portland, Ind., recuperating from a siege of illness. — Observer. |
