At the Brookfield manufacturing plant, Brooklyn, N.Y., the usual force is employed on both shifts under the management of Wm. B. Hughes, inventor of the carrying-in device still in successful use at these works. The blowers have worked steadily thus far, having lost only a few days since the beginning of the blast according to statements made during the writer's visit. Former Superintendent W. H. Schorling now has charge of the company's Old Bridge holdings.
