Brooklyn, N.Y., Feb. 2 - At the Brookfield Glass Co.'s plant everything is going along at the usual rate and everybody is well pleased. Prospects look bright for the rest of the blast. The writer wishes to state that he was misinformed regarding the erection of a new at Old Bridge, N.Y. [sic] N.J., as stated in the previous article sent to the Commissioner and Glassworker.

The members of Branch No. 52, G.B.B.A., held their annual reception and ball recently at Concordia hall. Members of the Branch are to be congratulated on the able manner in which they undertook and solved the problem of giving everybody that attended a good social time. The arrangement committed especially deserves credit for the time and energy they put forth toward making this a grand success. The committee was composed of the following: Wm. Schmidt, Casper Hartman, Louis Fuchstadt, Harry Brereton, Stewart Moneypenny and Louis Hartman. Prof. Adam Albert and his Oriental Orchestra rendered all the latest selections, keeping the young as well as the old dancing and humming the airs.

Phil Schmidt, Jos. Frohnhoefer and Michael Brendel were kept busy seeing that everybody was well supplied with refreshments to the delight of all. Good boys, these.

The wheel of fortune was kept going in a most capable manner by Casper Hartman and Harry Brereton, on which some very elegant prizes were won. These were largely donated by the members and business people in our vicinity.

The brilliant affair which was the best ever held at Concordia Hall, was held under the auspices of Branch No. 52 for the benefit of the widows and children of our dearly beloved gone but not forgotten brother, James J. Dunn, and the Branch wishes to thank one and all who contributed towards this good cause, "for the Lord loveth a cheerful giver." A good sum was realized.

Our genial secretary, Wm. Launer, and Executive Member Nathaniel Gifford, were our beloved guests and they enjoyed a very pleasant evening with the boys. We deeply regretted that out national president, D.A. Hayes, could not take part. He was called to Washington on business. Better lick next time.

It seemed as if everybody was imbued with the same thought, and that was to stay till the finish, which was 5 o'clock a.m., when the band played "Home, Sweet Home." The parting question of all our guests was, "When are you glass blowers going to hold your next affair? We'll all be there will bells on." - Gotham.
