An unsuccessful effort was made July 21, 1897, by Geo. M. Shank [sic] Sharp, receiver, to dispose of the large plant of the Baltimore Glass Mfg. Co. at Westport, Md. Not one bid was received for the plant as an entirety, so the auctioneer sold the contents of the various buildings in detail, but the prices bid were so small that the sale was postponed till later in the season.
