Mr. John Gray, of Clybourne place, Chicago, who has a patent on silvering glass balls for telegraph and other purposes, is in the city, and has the bottle works at work on a contract for 80,000 of these balls. Mr. Gray has his own molds, and for some years past the National Glass Works has been making the balls, but the labor trouble this year prevented them continuing the work. The contract this year is the largest ever made, and it furnishes employment for extra work at the bottle works.
