KNOWN AS CARLO
THE BEAUTIFUL
INDIANAPOLIS, December 2. — Carlotta Steffin, the young woman who committed suicide in the Knickerbocker apartment house in Sun Francisco, was a resident of Indianapolis until a few weeks ago. She was associated here in business with a Mrs. Graham of New York, and with her conducted a manicure parlor. The two dissolved partnership after a month's association. To friends in this city Miss Steffin confided her love secret, declaring that she was engaged to marry Robert Hemingray, a wealthy horseman. She left this city for San Francisco for an immediate marriage. Professionally Miss Steffin was known here and elsewhere as "Carlo the Beautiful."
