WESTERN FLINT BOTTLE ASSOCIATION.
THE Western Flint Bottle Association met at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Chicago, on Thursday, June 11. The following firms were represented: Great Western Glass Works, St. Louis Glass Works (J. K. Cummings), and Illinois Glass Works (W. Eliot Smith), all of St. Louis; Kearns, Gorsuch & Co., Zanesville, Ohio; Hemingray Glass Co., Covington, Kentucky; Ottawa Flint Bottle Co., Ottawa, Illinois; Bellaire Bottle Co., Bellaire, Ohio; and Tibby Bros., W. H. Hamilton & Co., J. T. & A. Hamilton, Thomas Wightman & Co., and Agnew & Co., all of Pittsburgh. Mr. Joseph Hamilton presided, and W. Eliot Smith was secretary. After going so far it was thought by several members that some definite action should be taken on the price list, but in view of the fact that the dull season impended, and that the labor troubles might easily be fanned into renewed activity by such action, it was decided to postpone further consideration of the matter until the next meeting. Beyond merely routine matters little more was considered at the meeting. The members generally thought that the indications favored a good fall trade, though it has been rather quiet so far.
