COVINGTON, KY.

The Hemingway [sic] Hemingray Glass Co., of Covington, Ky., have bored 2,000 feet for natural gas without striking it. They abandoned the work for a day or two, but have resumed it again. They have already expended $10,000 on the experiment. If it shall be shown, despite long-established geological theories, that there is coal under this region it will have an important bearing on our manufactures.
