INDUSTRIAL SMOKER.

 

An industrial smoker will be held tomorrow night at the Kennebec Cafeteria, attended by members of the Chamber of Commerce and the Merchant's and Manufacturer's Association, the Mayor, members of the City Council, and members of the various industries of Long Beach, the number of which has been growing constantly.

W.H. Reider, president of the Chamber of Commerce, will open the programme of talks with an address on "Industry, the key to Opportunity, "after which representatives of more than a score of manufacturing, development or public service corporations will be heard. The speakers will include F. P. Newport of Los Angeles, whose subject will be "Possibilities of Long Beach Harbor;" C. J. Curtis, Los Angeles Dock and Terminal Company; Arthur H. Firman, American Potash, Inc.; H.E. Barr, Hamilton Artificial Stone Company; J. J. Foster, Foster Vinegar Company; W. H. Privet, Los Angeles Tuna Canning Company; J. F. Craig, Craig Shipbuilding Company; William H. McCoy, Star Drilling Machine Company; F. A. Green, Southern California Edison Company; U. S. Proctor, Long Beach Salt Company; George Reeis, Long Beach Marble Company; W. L. Camp, Long Beach Sash and Door Company; George Restall, Restall Bead Company; C. L. Eshelman, California Glass Insulator Company, and others. Officers of the Chamber of Commerce point with pride to the showing which this beach city can make as a center of industry.
