A SOCIAL SESSION.

The Muncie Elks Honor Gus Williams

With an Elegant Banquet.

Gus Williams, the comedian, is a general favorite in Muncie and has hundreds of friends here who are eager to welcome him at any of his visits. Last night after the presentation of "April Fool" at the Grand the Elks took him in hand and conducted him to the New Southern where an elegant banquet was spread and all the delicacies of the season that could be procured by the experienced caterer of the popular hostelry were spread before the Elks and their guests. Toasts were offered by Mayor Frank Ellis, Bob Hemingray, and others, and happily responded to by Gus Williams and Mr. Gorrad, of Chicago. After the good things to eat had been tested a regular "Social Session" ensued and each person at the table was called upon to sing a song or speak a piece. All responded and the audience showed their approbation or dislike by fining each member or singer a small or large amount. It was a very enjoyable affair and one that will long be remembered by the participants.
