LAST MIDNIGHT.

The Hemingray Glass Factory Was Put In

Complete Operation.

Last midnight the huge furnaces at the Hemingray Glass Works were started and the large number of employees called to work reported for duty at the regular hour. As soon as the midnight hour was announced, there was a rumbling of machinery and in a remarkably short time the furnaces were going and a large force of workmen had taken their regular places and began the first work of the season. This is the first factory in the gas belt to resume operations. It has been closed but a few weeks, and the vacation of the workmen in this factory is much more limited than that of other glass factories. The output of this plant is greater than the usual factory where there is a variety of articles manufactured. The plant will remain in steady operation and the early resumption is regarded as important in the glass trade.
