Vial and Bottle Manufacturers.

The Eastern and Western Divisions of the National Vial and Bottle Manufacturers' Association held separate meetings at the New Columbia, Cape May, N.J., on Thursday, 14th inst., and later in the day the National Association held their semi-annual meeting. The officers are always elected at the annual meeting.

No business of importance was transacted, though several topics of interest were discussed.

The demand of the green glass blowers of the League for ten instead of fifteen per cent. off as last year, has been conceded, the blowers allowing the apprentice question to rest, as heretofore, with two apprentices to a furnace.

The following are the names of the firms represented: Western Division -Wm. Elliot Smith, St. Louis; Thomas Wrightman & Co., Kerns, Gorsuch & Co., Swindell Bros., Baltimore, Md.; Moore Bros., Clayton, N.J.; Kirby & McBride, Cohansey Glass Co., Cumberland Glass Co., Bridgeton, N.J.; Caren Bros., Salem, N.J.; Bodine, Thomas & Co., Williamstown, N.J.; William Brookfield, Consolidated Fruit Jar Co., New York; Poughkeepsie Glass Co., Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Mason Fruit Jar Co., Hero Fruit Jar Co., Philadelphia; Hagerty Bros. & Co., New York; Whitney Bros., Glassboro, N.J.

All the firms represented in the National Association of Green Glass Vial and Bottle Manufacturers expect to resume operations on September 1.
