Chester's Patent Insulator.

WE would invite the attention of all persons interested in the construction or maintenance of telegraph lines to the advertisement of CHESTER'S Patent Insulator, which will be found in another column. We consider it far superior to any form of glass insulator which has yet been brought before the public. Its merits will at once be apparent upon an examination of its peculiarities. The conductor is only in contact with the surface of the insulator at three points, and these of small extent, instead of completely surrounding it, as is practically the case when the ordinary wire is used. One of the most objectionable features of the ordinary glass insulator is in this way avoided. A somewhat extended discussion of the comparative merits of different forms of glass insulators will appear in the next number of THE TELEGRAPHER, in which this invention will be further referred to.
