Bliss, Tillotson & Co.

IN the letter on our first page it is stated that this enterprising firm, who were burned out in the great fire in Chicago, had already secured a new location and resumed business. We learn that they were actually selling goods again within forty-eight hours after the total destruction of their establishment on South Water street. At the time of the disaster Mr. BLISS was in Wisconsin, vainly endeavoring to keep up communication on the Green Bay line of the Northwestern Company, 120 miles of which have been destroyed by the late fearful forest fires. Mr. GOODYEAR, his associate, and his assistants, by heroic exertions, succeeded in saving most of the books and a portion of the stock, and only ceased their endeavors when the building was on fire over their heads. The firm will continue their business in their new location, and, backed by the ample resources of the New York house, will be able hereafter to fill all orders with the usual promptness. Their legion of friends will wish them every success.
