MATTHEWS - THOMAS

The marriage of Lewis Matthews, of Covington, and Miss Mabel Thomas, which took place Thursday evening at 5 o'clock at the home of the bride's brother, Hon. W. S. Thomas, in Springfield, O., was noted for its exquisite simplicity. Rev. John Clark Hill performed an impressive ceremony in the presence of relatives only. Miss Lueretia Little, of Springfield, was maid of honor, and Messrs. John Henry Thomas and Thomas B. Summers, nephews of the bride, were ushers.

Miss Thomas is one of Springfield's most cultured society girls and the daughter of the late Hon. John H. Thomas, a millionaire manufacturer. Mr. Matthews is prominent in both business and social circles of the three cities, and is Superintendent of the C & O Coal Company. After a wedding journey of two weeks Mr. and Mrs. Matthews will be at home to their friends at the Alms Hotel.

Among the Covingtonians attending were Mrs. Llewellyn Matthews, Miss Lide Matthews, Carroll Hemingray and Hon. and Mrs. Meade Massie, of Chillicothe, Ill.
