LOCATING NEAR CINCINNATI.
Boy Labor and Scarcity of Gas the
Alleged Cause.
Muncie, Ind., December 21. — An apparently well-authenticated statement is given out that two important industries of this city, the Muncie glass-works and the Hemingray glass-works, contemplate a removal to Cincinnati in the early spring. Both together employ 900 persons. Large bonuses have been offered for a transfer. The chief reason for removal. however, is said to be the exhausted condition of the natural gas supply and the compulsory education law, preventing the necessary juvenile help in operating the factories. The Hemingray plant contemplates removal to Covington, and the other, to Cincinnati direct.
