GLASS FLOWS FREELY WHEN TANK EXPLODES
Damage estimated at more than $2,000 was done early yesterday morning when a huge tank at the Hemingray Glass Company exploded. About seventy-five tons of molten glass were in the tank. It had been charged a few days ago and was to have been put into use today. Several large holes were blown in the fire-brick forming the bottom of the tank. Three crews of city firemen played water on the boiling glass from 4:36 until 11:22 o'clock. |
