AN ENJOYABLE AFFAIR. Miss Hickman Entertains in Honor of Miss Pope of Dayton. Miss Helen Hickman of East Main Street, was a charming hostess last evening to quite a number of her friends who were entertained in honor of Miss Nanette Pope of Dayton, Ohio. Miss Hickman's handsome home was appropriately decorated with nature's sweetest gift - flowers, and everything was in keeping with the occasion. One large room was reserved for dancing, exquisite music being furnished by a traveling Italian orchestra, which rendered inspiring schottische, waltz, and quadrille music for several hours. Cards, pedro, whist, and euchre were heartily enjoyed, as were various other social amusements. Mrs. Lon Hickman and Mrs. Nettie Latham served dainty refreshments in the dining room during the evening. Chocolate and ices and delicious cake constituted the menu. The event was a social success in every sense the word implies and was heartily enjoyed by the numerous guests: Misses. Hemingray, Eva Winchester, Reba Richey, Fannie Turner, Lena and Louise Maddy, Clifford Bowers, Clara Gill, Veda Cassady, Agnes Howe, Jean Petty, Bertha Smith, Rhuie Dungan, Linnie Coffeen, Erna Eiler, Eva Moore, and Abbie Keuchman. Messrs. Harry Hill, Henry McGinnis, Robert Price, Walter Brown, George Tappan, Walter Ryan, Ted Parsons, Charles Miser, Dan Andrews, and Albert Martin. |
